A favorite of zombie killers on AMC’s The Walking Dead, the Glock 19 was introduced in 1982. When Austrian Gaston Glock engineered the Glock 19 he had no experience with firearm design or manufacturing. He did, however, have extensive experience in advanced synthetic polymers, and introduced the first line of pistols with a polymer frame. Since then, Glock’s “plastic gun” has earned a reputation for durability and reliability, accounting for 65% of the handguns for United States law enforcement agencies.
